Terms of Service

Effective from: 13 September 2026

§1. General provisions

Chompiko (the “Service”) is a web application for learning vocabulary in Polish, English, German, Spanish and French. Among other things, the Service offers ready-made word sets, various exercise modes, a review system and features that allow selected materials to be used offline.

The Service is operated by Marcel Plona, operating under the name “Chompiko”, ul. Bema 6/21, 18-300 Zambrów, Poland (the “Operator”). Contact with the Operator: email [email protected], phone +48 888 035 111.

These Terms set out the rules for using the Service, including the rules for using paid and free features, the user account and Premium access.

Premium access is purchased through Paddle.com Market Ltd acting as Merchant of Record. Details concerning payments and purchases are set out in §3, while the rules on refunds of payments are set out in the separate Refund Policy.

§2. Account and rules of use

Using the basic features of the Service does not require an account. An account allows the user to save their learning progress, use additional features and use purchased Premium access.

An account is created by providing an e-mail address and a password. The account is personal. The user must not share their login details or access to the account with other people.

The Service may be used by a person of any age. If using the Service or performing a specific action requires the consent of a legal representative, such consent must be obtained in accordance with applicable law.

The account can be deleted at any time. Deleting the account results in the loss of the learning progress saved in it and other data associated with the account, subject to data that the Operator is required to retain under applicable law.

Deleting the account does not automatically cancel an active Premium subscription. The subscription must be canceled in accordance with the rules set out in §3.

When using the Service, the user undertakes:

  • not to share Premium access with third parties;
  • not to download or copy the content of the Service in an automated manner, unless a given feature of the Service expressly allows it;
  • not to resell or distribute the content made available in the Service;
  • not to circumvent technical safeguards or take actions aimed at obtaining unauthorized access to the Service;
  • not to include unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others in their own word sets.

In the event of a breach of the rules of use of the Service, the Operator may, to the extent permitted by applicable law, restrict the functionality of the account, suspend the account or delete it, in particular in the case of repeated breaches, attempts to circumvent safeguards or actions threatening the security of the Service.

If an account is suspended or deleted due to a breach of the rules of use of the Service, this does not automatically give rise to a right to a refund for the unused Premium period, subject to the rights the user has under applicable law.

The user retains the rights to the content they have entered into the Service to the extent that such rights belong to them. By entering content into the Service, the user grants the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display that content to the extent necessary to provide the services and make the content available to the user.

The user declares that they hold the rights necessary to use the content they place in the Service and that placing it does not infringe the rights of others.

§3. Premium, payments and prices

Using the basic features of the Service is free of charge. Premium access provides additional features and materials available in the Service, in particular full access to the word sets and exercise modes covered by a given Premium offer.

Premium access is purchased through Paddle.com Market Ltd acting as Merchant of Record. For Premium purchase transactions, Paddle is the selling party. Paddle handles the payment, issues the appropriate sales document and settles the taxes related to the transaction in accordance with the applicable rules.

The Operator does not receive the user's payment card details in connection with the transaction.

The current price, the Premium period and information on whether a given offer is a subscription or a one-time purchase are presented to the user before the purchase is made.

Premium access is activated once the Operator receives confirmation that the payment has been successfully completed.

A Premium subscription renews automatically for subsequent periods until it is canceled. The user can cancel the subscription directly in the Service using the available cancellation feature. Cancelling the subscription prevents the next charge and does not shorten the Premium period already paid for.

A one-time purchase is valid for the period indicated at the time of purchase and does not renew automatically. With a one-time purchase, the user does not need to cancel anything.

Questions about payments, charges and subscriptions can be submitted directly to Paddle or to the Operator at [email protected]. In the case of a request concerning a transaction, the Operator may forward it to Paddle for handling.

The rules on refunds of payments are set out in the separate Refund Policy. Consumers have the right of withdrawal under the terms set out in applicable law.

§4. Complaints and problems with the Service

If the Service or the digital content or digital services made available in it do not conform to the contract, the user may report the problem to the Operator at [email protected].

The Operator handles technical problems concerning the operation of Chompiko, in particular application errors, account access, learning progress and the operation of the features and materials made available in the Service.

Where possible, the report should include a description of the problem that allows it to be verified and information that allows the user's account to be identified.

The Operator reviews complaints within 14 days of receipt, unless applicable law provides for a different period or requires a different procedure.

Questions and requests concerning payments, charges and the Premium transaction itself can be directed to Paddle. They can also be reported to the Operator at [email protected].

Using Paddle's support does not limit the user's rights under mandatory provisions of law.

If the Service, digital content or digital services do not conform to the contract, the user is entitled to the remedies provided by applicable law.

§5. Technical requirements

Using the Service requires a device with internet access and a current, supported version of a web browser that supports JavaScript and local storage. The Operator does not guarantee that all features of the Service will work correctly on unsupported browser versions. If problems occur, updating the browser or the operating system is recommended.

The Service is intended for use in browsers including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.

Some features or materials may require additional device resources, such as local storage or a sufficient amount of free space.

Offline mode requires the relevant materials to be downloaded in advance while an internet connection is active.

The range of materials available offline may depend on the device, the browser and the amount of available storage.

§6. Copyright

The elements of the Service, in particular the code, graphics, layout, educational materials, word sets and other legally protected elements, are subject to legal protection to the extent provided for by applicable law.

The user may use the content made available under Premium as part of using the Service and for their own learning.

Without the Operator's consent, the user may not copy, distribute, resell or make available outside the Service any legally protected materials, unless such action is permitted by applicable law.

§7. Personal data

The rules for processing personal data are set out in the separate Privacy Policy available on the Service's website.

§8. Liability

The Operator makes every effort to ensure that the Service operates properly and, as far as possible, without interruption. However, technical interruptions, failures, maintenance work or limitations resulting from the operation of external service providers may occur.

The Operator may temporarily restrict access to selected features of the Service where it is necessary to carry out technical work, ensure security or repair a failure.

The Service is educational in nature and is intended to support language learning. The Operator does not guarantee that the user will achieve specific learning outcomes, exam results or a particular level of language proficiency.

The language materials are educational in nature and may not cover all meanings, contexts of use or nuances of a given word or expression. The user should take into account the context and the situation in which they use the vocabulary they have learned.

The provisions of this section do not exclude or limit the Operator's liability to the extent that such exclusion or limitation is not permitted under applicable law.

§9. Changes to the Terms and final provisions

The Operator may amend these Terms for important reasons, in particular in the event of changes in the law, changes in the way the Service operates, changes in functionality or technical conditions, the need to ensure the security of the Service, or changes concerning services provided by external providers.

Users who hold an account are informed of significant changes to the Terms by e-mail or by a message in the application with appropriate advance notice, to the extent required by applicable law.

If a change to the Terms significantly affects the user's rights or obligations, in cases required by law the user will also be informed of the rights available to them.

Changes to the Terms do not affect the user's rights arising from contracts concluded before the changes take effect, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

These Terms are governed by Polish law. For consumers, this provision does not limit the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country of their habitual residence.

Disputes may be resolved amicably, including through the ADR body competent for the consumer or a consumer ombudsman.

These Terms have been drawn up in accordance with Polish law and the provisions of European Union law applicable to the services provided within the Service.
